What is Moon Walk?
Moon Walk is a community health promotion program created and organized by the Peoria Area Labor Management Council (PALM) to encourage people to walk more and reap the related health benefits. Participants track their mileage using a pedometer or other method, then pool their mileage toward a common goal. The program launched in 2003 and has been offered each year since.
Why doesn't the Quad Cities and Champaign/Urbana’s' mileage total update automatically?
Only the Peoria Tri-County team is using this specially designed Web site, which allows online logging. Organizers in the Quad Cities and Champaign/Urbana report their Friday totals to us the following Monday, and we will manually update their totals on our Web site. Thus, the best time to compare totals is on Monday afternoon.
What activities count toward Moon Walk?
Every step you take all day every day counts toward Moon Walk, so put your pedometer on in the morning and wear it until you go to bed--and do remember to write down your miles each night. Some activities can be converted to Moon Walk miles. If your activity is not listed here, but is similar in exertion level to one listed, use your best judgment in making a conversion. Remember to take off your pedometer when engaging in these other activities, then use the conversion factor to add on your other activity miles at the end of the day.

How do I calculate Stride Length for my pedometer?
Your stride length is the length of one of your steps, measured from "toe to toe." To measure, walk 10 steps with your normal stride and measure the TOTAL DISTANCE from the toe of your starting step to the toe of your 10th step. Divide the TOTAL DISTANCE by 10, and multiply the decimal portion by 12 to find your stride length in feet and inches.

Example: If you walk 23 feet in 10 steps, your stride length is 2.3 feet. Multiply 0.3 x 12 = 4. Your stride length is 2 feet, 4 inches.

How do I set the Stride Length for my Accusplit Eagle 2740 Activity Pedometer?
Repeatedly press the red MODE button until "mi" appears. Press the blue SET button once to enter setting mode. Display will shift to show stride, in feet and inches. Press and hold down the blue SET button to increase stride length. Press the red MODE button to exit setting mode.

Note: Pressing the white RESET button resets stride length to 2'0".

How do I replace the battery in my Accusplit Eagle 2740 Activity Pedometer?
When the display starts to dim or goes blank, it is time to replace the battery. Your pedometer uses one Type L1142 (LR43) 1.5 volt silver oxide battery. To replace:
  1. Insert a coin in to the slot on the front of the case, and twist counterclockwise to loosen the battery door.
  2. Remove battery door and take out the old battery. Replace it with a new battery. The battery’s positive (+) terminal should be FACE UP while you put it into the pedometer.
  3. Put the battery door back on and twist the coin clockwise to tighten.
