The Peoria-Quad Cities-Champagin/Urbana Community Challenge: Double or Nothing
Which community will complete two round-trips to the Moon (954,800 miles) first?
This year’s challenge will be a repeat of last year’s goal of two round-trips to the moon (954,800 miles), and it officially begins on April 4th and ends on June 27th. Competing to win the challenge will be the Peoria Tri-County team, Quad Cities team, and Champaign/Urbana team.
The 2007 Community Challenge ended with the Peoria Tri-County team “splashing down on earth” first and claiming the Moon Walk Walking Stick from the Quad Cities team winner of the 2006 Challenge.
This exciting Community Challenge means that the Peoria Tri-County team will have to recruit more walkers than ever. You can help by spreading the word about Moon Walk (registration is continuous throughout the three months), so that the Peoria area can hold the Moon Walk Walking Stick Trophy!

The 1.5 Million Mile Challenge:
Can we make it in just three months?
In the Peoria area, we have a lofty goal for Moon Walk 2008: To walk a total of 1.5 million miles between April 4 and June 27. We at PALM know that the Peoria Tri-County team is up for the challenge!

Team Challenges:
Is your team or sub-team up for the challenge?
Throughout the three months, teams will also have many opportunities to compete in various team challenges. Many of these team challenges will emphasize the walker average for the team and are meant to strengthen the commitment of a whole team. As a reward to the team who wins the bi-weekly team challenge, PALM will donate $100 to one charity or cause of the team's choice.
